A Wider Lens

This series is sponsored by A Wider Bridge, The Consulate General of Israel to the Pacific Northwest, the EBIJFF and the CCJCC with the goal of expanding people’s knowledge and appreciation of Israel's dynamic and diverse culture and society. It will feature films focusing on the LGBTQ experience in Israel; filmmakers; panel discussions and food demonstrations.

On December 9, we presented the first event of the series--a Hanukkah cooking demonstration by celebrity chef Nir Zook. In January, we streamed the powerfully moving documentary Marry Me HoweverFollowing the movie there was a panel discussion including Rabbi Mordechai Vardi, the film's director, and Avigail Sperber, an Israeli cinematographer, social activist, and the founder of Bat Kol--Religious Lesbian Organization.

Next on the series is the free streaming of Family in Transition, the 2018 DocAviv winner for Best Documentary.
