About the Event
Join a virtual tour of Battae (“my home”), the new Ethiopian Israeli Heritage Center in Israel, where visitors learn about traditional Ethiopian heritage through food, photography, art, music, dancing, and most importantly from hearing stories.
Admission is free. Register here.
Our tour guide is Ashager Araro, the director of Battae. She was born in Gondar, Ethiopia, and immigrated to Israel as an infant during the 1991 “Operation Solomon.” Following her military service, where she held the rank of lieutenant, she studied government and diplomacy at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya. Araro's career in public diplomacy has brought her to countries throughout Europe, North America and Africa, where she has engaged audiences on issues pertinent to Israel and the Jewish people.
