About the Event

SEE "SUGIHARA: CONSPIRACY OF KINDNESS" APRIL 13 - 17 & WATCH FRED ROSENBAUM TALK ABOUT IT ON ARIL 16!

"Sugihara: Conspiracy of Kindness" is a phenomenal documentary about a man who saved Jewish lives during WWII...defying his country's orders.

In the dark early days of the war, Japanese diplomat Chiune Sugihara used his power (defying Tokyo's express orders) to rescue Jewish refugees in Lithuania. More than 2,000 Sugihara-stamped passports allowed hundreds of families to flee to safe havens abroad. Through unprecedented access to Sugihara's family and their personal home movies, photos and papers, the heroism of this man is brought to light.

Watch this film between April 13 - April 17 and listen to Fred Rosenbaum's talk about the Japanese diplomat on Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 PM (PT). Rosenbaum will also be interviewing Robert Kirk, the film's writer and director, as well as producer Diane Estelle Vicari.

Sponsored by the EBIJFF and co-sponsored with Tiyul Jewish Journeys.

Admission to both the film screening and Rosenbaum's talk is free.
