About the Event
Israel / Documentary / Hebrew with English subtitles / 2020 / 60 minutes.
This documentary reveals an important slice of history and explores several unreported actions by the late Prime Minister of Israel, especially those in 1991, a pivotal year that started with Iraqi missiles launched on Israel and ended with the consequential Madrid Peace Conference. It dramatically unfolds Shamir's controversial decision not to retaliate to Iraq's missile attack in addition to withstanding international pressure from world leaders such as President George H. W. Bush and President Mikhail Gorbachev.
This revealing film includes interviews with key figures such as former Prime Ministers Ehud Barak and Ehud Olmert, and discusses Shamir’s clandestine meeting with King Hussein.
