About the Event

A Recipe for a Good Year: Celebrating Israeli Flavors of Rosh Hashana with famed Israeli Chef Ayelet Latovitch is a long title...but those who register for this event will be delighted with the results. You'll learn how to put an Israeli twist on High Holiday favorites and how to upgrade your New Year celebrations. Chef Ayelet Latovitch is a well-known Israeli chef and food journalist. After returning to Israel from culinary school in London, Chef Ayelet left her footprints on the Israeli culinary scene and worked as a private chef for the British ambassador, wrote for Israel’s leading culinary publication HaShulchan, cooked at hit restaurants Keren and Lilith, appeared in popular TV cooking shows, and grew the small cafe Beta into a beloved collection of neighborhood spots around Tel Aviv. Today, Chef Ayelet is the Culinary Director of Asif, a non-profit organization and culinary center in Tel Aviv dedicated to cultivating and nurturing Israel’s diverse and creative food culture.

This program is part of A WIDER LENS, a series of events looking into the Israeli LGBTQ community--its diverse society and rich culture--through A Wider Lens of experiences, including trailblazing Israeli documentaries, culinary workshops led by Israeli chefs, and meaningful conversations with local heroes and activists.

Sponsors: A Wider Bridge, The Consulate General of Israel to the Pacific Northwest, and The East Bay International Jewish Film Festival. The CCJCC is promotional co-sponsor.
